Honestly, I had sleepless nights right till my delivery! A warm foot massage with mustard oil by my husband really helped release the tension in my legs. Just try to nap during the daytime whenever you get a chance because post-delivery sleep is another story anyway!
I struggled with terrible sleep during my pregnancy too. What helped me was having a warm bath and a cup of warm milk before bed. Also, get a pregnancy pillow to support your belly, it makes a huge difference for comfort.
Oh god, the sleepless nights are so scary, I used to worry that my lack of sleep would affect my baby's growth! Please don't panic, baby is sleeping fine inside. Try listing down your worries in a diary or listening to light music to calm your overactive mind.
Insomnia is extremely frustrating but please don't take any over-the-counter sleep pills or strong herbs. Always talk to your gynac if you are totally unable to sleep. They might check your iron levels or recommend safe ways to rest.
My hospital actually conducted a prenatal wellness session where they taught us deep breathing exercises for insomnia. I would highly recommend asking your doctor or the hospital's support team for safe sleep techniques. They have very practical clinical solutions for this.
For me, keeping the bedroom completely dark and cold worked wonders. I also stopped using my phone at least one hour before sleeping. It didn't solve it completely but definitely helped me get 5-6 hours of peaceful sleep.
