My calf muscles cramp suddenly at night and I wake up almost crying. I am in 7th month and it has started happening more often. What did you do for these cramps?
Cramps mostly hit at night na. Drink enough water through the day and stretch your calf before sleeping, point your toes up not down. Both my pregnancies this helped. If one leg stays swollen or painful then dont ignore, show gynac.
My amma always told me to keep feet a little raised on a pillow at night and it actually helped me. Warm water before sleeping also. But if it keeps coming check with doctor once, just to be safe.
Beta gentle warm oil malish on the legs before bed used to settle my cramps nicely. Also eat banana, milk these things daily. But anything that doesnt go in a day better to ask your doctor.
Light walking in evening really cut down my leg cramps, and some gentle stretches my doc okayed. Dont push it though, only what your gynac allows for your stage.
My gynac said it can be calcium or magnesium related plus the extra weight pressing on nerves. She told me stay hydrated, stretch, and we checked my calcium levels too. Maybe ask yours to just check once so you know its nothing else.
