Lately, my feet and hands have started swelling quite a bit, and it's making me uncomfortable. What are some good ways to reduce swelling during pregnancy?
Oh god, the potato feet are so real! Don't stress too much about it, thoda swelling is very normal. Try to avoid standing for too long and tell your husband to give you a nice light foot massage tonight.
Please monitor your blood pressure regularly if you have swelling. I had severe swelling in my ankles and it turned out to be pre-eclampsia, so my doctor had to monitor me closely. Definitely mention it to your gynac in your next visit just to be absolutely safe.
My MIL suggested drinking barley water to reduce the water retention and it did help a bit. But my doctor said not to overdo anything and just focus on walking gently and avoiding too much salt in food. Always ask your gynac once before trying home remedies.
Keep your feet up whenever u can! Putting a pillow under my feet while sleeping helped me so much during my third trimester. And keep drinking lots of water, it actually helps flush out the fluids!
