My saas told me to register as soon as the pregnancy was confirmed. You just need to visit the nearest Government Health Sub Centre, and they will give you the PICME number which is needed for the birth certificate.

You can contact the local Village Health Nurse (VHN) or visit a government primary health center to get registered. They will generate your PICME number, which is very important for all your subsequent doctor follow-ups and records.
