delivered 5 weeks back and my lower back is killing me, specially after feeding and lifting the baby. nobody warned me about this part yaar. what helped you ladies recover, pls share.
Postpartum back pain is very common due to epidural or just pelvic alignment changes. Try to maintain a good posture while feeding the baby, use a feeding pillow so you don't bend. Light pelvic tilts can help, but please consult your physical therapist before starting any heavy exercises.
Honestly, don't go for expensive therapies, just get a simple hot water bag and apply it twice a day. Also, ask your MIL or mom to give you a good mustard oil massage (maalish) at home, it worked wonders for my back.
I felt so weak and helpless because my back would hurt constantly while lifting my baby. What saved me was using a proper postpartum belt and making sure I never sat without back support. It slowly got better by the third month, so please hang in there.
I am in my third trimester right now and already struggling with backache, so I'm really scared about how it will be after delivery. Do heating pads help postpartum, or are we not supposed to use them? Hope you get some relief soon!
