My gums have become so sensitive these days, they even bleed a little when i brush. Im in 2nd trimester. Is this a pregnancy thing? Looking for some relief tips till i get to a dentist.
My mom told me to rinse with warm salt water twice a day and it really calmed my gums. Just keep up your brushing gently. But if it is bleeding a lot, do visit the dentist.
Gums get swollen and bleed easily in pregnancy because of hormones, so soft brushing and warm salt water rinses really help. Use a soft brush and dont skip flossing gently. If there is a lot of pain or swelling, see a dentist, it is safe in second trimester.
My gynac actually told me pregnancy gingivitis is super common and to get a dental cleaning done. Salt water rinses and a soft toothbrush helped daily. She said dental treatment in the middle trimester is fine, just inform the dentist you are pregnant.
