Delivered 4 months back and these dark patches on my cheeks are still there yaar. I thought it will go on its own but nope. What did u guys use that actually faded it?
Listen, melasma is purely hormonal, so don't waste money on fancy serums right away. Keep your skin hydrated, use a good SPF 50 sunscreen daily, and give your body at least 6 months to balance out post-delivery. It will go away.
I am in my 9th month and my face looks like a map with all these dark patches, haha! I am too tired to care right now, but my doctor said most of it fades on its own after delivery anyway. Let's wait and see!
I got severe melasma along with gestational diabetes, it was so tough. Since I had to be very careful with my diet, I focused on drinking lots of water and eating antioxidant-rich foods. Don't rush into harsh chemical creams, let your hormones settle first.
My MIL made a paste of chandan (sandalwood) and rose water for me, and it really helped fade my pregnancy pigmentation. In a joint family, everyone has a remedy! But sunscreen is a must, don't skip it.
Seeing those dark spots in the mirror can be so disheartening when you are already dealing with postpartum changes, I feel you. Please be gentle with yourself. Your skin went through so much to bring a life, just use basic moisturizer and sunscreen for now.
Honestly, those expensive skin treatments are not needed. Just apply homemade curd with a pinch of haldi or some fresh aloe vera gel daily. And please wear sunscreen even when you are ghar pe, it makes a huge difference.
