We got married 4 months back and planning to start trying soon. I dont really know much beyond the basics na, was too shy to ask anyone. Can someone explain how it actually works and the right time to try?
Simple terms, sperm meets egg around ovulation and that's how it starts. Stop any contraception, eat well, take folic acid, and give it time. If nothing happens in a year, then see a doctor.
Don't overthink the process. Healthy body, right timing of the month, and patience. Start folic acid now itself and maybe a basic checkup for both of you, that's it.
If you mean trying to conceive, basically track your fertile days around ovulation and time things accordingly. We did the same, took us a few months. A gynac can guide you properly if you want a plan.
I used an ovulation tracker app and it really helped me figure out my fertile window. Log your periods for 2-3 months and it predicts the days. That plus a doctor's input worked for us.
We are also just starting out. From what I read, the days around ovulation are the most important and folic acid before conceiving helps. Maybe book one pre pregnancy checkup, it cleared a lot of my doubts.
