My breasts have changed so much during pregnancy, and my old bras don't fit well anymore. How should I go about selecting the right bra during pregnancy? What features should I look for for comfort and support?
After my IVF journey, every small change in my body felt like a big deal, including my breast size. I found that cotton maternity bras without underwires were the most comforting. Go for one size up from your usual because your body is doing such beautiful work right now.
I can only share what worked for me, but I completely gave up underwired bras by the 3rd month because they were hurting my ribs. I just bought some cheap, loose crop-top style bras from Amazon and they were a lifesaver. My skin was very sensitive, so pure cotton was the only thing I could wear.
Since you'll eventually need them for nursing, I highly recommend buying nursing bras right now. Look for soft cotton ones with easy clips that you can open with one hand. They stretch nicely as your milk comes in, so they are a great investment.
Look, don't waste money on fancy padded ones right now. Just buy simple, non-wired cotton front-open or feeding bras, they will last you post-delivery also. Buy one or two sizes bigger than your pre-pregnancy size, and make sure the band is wide so it doesn't dig into your skin.
Oh god, even I am in my 5th month and none of my regular bras fit me anymore, it is so uncomfortable! Are you guys also feeling constant heaviness? I was thinking of buying those seamless sports bras, do they help or should I get actual maternity ones?
