Im in my third trimester and sleeping has become a nightmare, i toss and turn whole night. My back hurts and i cant find any position thats okay. How are u all managing this? do those pregnancy pillows really help?
Left side is the recommended position, especially later on. Get yourself a long body pillow or just use 2-3 normal pillows to prop. Dont stress if you flip in your sleep, just settle back to left when you wake up.
I used to worry so much that i was sleeping in the wrong position and harming baby. My gynac reassured me that the body adjusts and a pillow setup is enough, no need to panic if you turn. That eased my mind a lot.
I felt so frustrated in the beginning because i was a back sleeper. The pillow under my belly and between knees genuinely changed everything for me. Took a week to get used to but then i slept way better.
Ha, comfortable sleep in pregnancy is a myth at this point lol. But honestly a pillow between my knees and one behind my back has saved me. Left side sleeping, thats what everyone keeps telling me and it does feel easier to breathe.
Warm milk before bed and a calm routine helped me settle. My amma told me to keep the room a little dark and cool. And left side as everyone says. Small things but they add up na.
