Im in my 4th month and lately not getting comfortable at night at all. Used to sleep on stomach earlier which i cant now, and back feels wrong too. Whats the best position now? Sleep thoda zaroori hai yaar, pls help.
I know how hard it is to adjust to sleeping on your side when you are used to sleeping on your back or stomach. At 4 months, your belly is starting to show, so it's a great time to practice side-sleeping. Hugging a soft pillow really helped me feel secure and comforted.
To get good sleep at 4 months, try drinking a cup of warm milk before bed and sleeping on your left side. Using simple home pillows under your belly and between your knees can ease any back strain. If you experience severe back pain or insomnia, do mention it to your doctor.
I remember struggling so much to sleep on my side at 4 months, but eventually, your body just gets used to it. I used to prop myself up with multiple cushions around me. Don't worry, once the baby is here, you'll sleep in any position you can find!
My doctor advised that after the first trimester, we should start sleeping on our side, especially the left side. This is because sleeping on your back can compress the vena cava and reduce blood flow to the placenta. Keeping a pillow between your knees helps align your hips nicely.
Sleep ergonomics become very important as you enter your second trimester. Medically, the left-side lateral position is recommended to optimize blood flow. However, if you wake up on your back, don't panic; simply roll back to your side as your doctor would advise.
