Third trimester and the heartburn at night is just not letting me sleep, lying down makes it worse. Im so tired but cant rest properly. How did you all manage to sleep with this, any tips?
My doctor at the hospital recommended keeping a 2-hour gap between dinner and sleeping, and prescribed a safe antacid gel. I'd highly suggest asking your hospital coordinator or doctor for a safe prescription instead of struggling.
With twins pushing my stomach up to my throat, heartburn was my constant companion! My tip: eat very small dinners, sleep almost propped up on a mountain of pillows, and avoid spicy foods completely.
Beta, don't lie down straight after eating. Take a very slow walk inside the house for 10 minutes, and sleep with your head high on two pillows. It will give you nice relief.
When I had bad acidity at night, my mother would give me a cup of cold milk before sleeping, which helped a lot. Also, try sleeping on your left side and use an extra pillow to keep your head elevated.
Oh god, the heartburn is keeping me awake too! I tried elevating my pillows but it still burns. Does anyone know if cold milk or fennel seeds are safer to try at night?
