How to sleep with shortness of breath during pregnancy?
Lately, I've been experiencing shortness of breath, especially when I lie down. What are some comfortable sleeping positions to help with this during pregnancy?
Use a couple of extra pillows to elevate your upper body, this keeps the pressure off your lungs. Always sleep on your left side to improve blood flow. If the breathlessness is sudden and severe, call your doctor immediately.
Oh, I remember how frustrating it was not being able to breathe properly while trying to sleep, it made me so emotional. Just know that you are doing amazing, and using extra pillows to prop yourself up will really help.
Try to do some very gentle deep breathing or meditation before sleeping to calm your mind. Sleep with your head elevated and keep your room well-ventilated. God will give you the strength, take care.
It gets better when you prop your head up slightly with extra pillows. Also, keeping a window slightly open for fresh air helped me sleep much better. Hang in there, you're almost at the finish line!
I felt so breathless in my third trimester, especially at night. I found that sleeping on my left side with a pregnancy pillow tucked under my tummy and between my knees gave me huge relief.
