Im in my second trimester and getting these headaches almost daily, mostly in the afternoon. I dont want to just pop a tablet without asking my doc. How do u all manage it without medicine? anyone else dealing with this?
Please be a little careful with headaches, specially in later months, sometimes its linked to BP. If u also have blurry vision, swelling or its very severe, call your gynac at once. For normal mild ones, rest and hydration is enough.
I used to get them when i didnt eat properly. My mother in law told me to eat small things often and rest, it helped calm them down. For anything strong though always check with your doctor before taking anything.
Mostly its dehydration or skipping meals, happened to me a lot. Drink enough water, eat on time, rest in a quiet dark room. Dont pop any painkiller on your own, ask your gynac which one is safe for you.
For a small headache try resting with a cool cloth on forehead and drink water, this used to help me. Keep the room dark and quiet for a while. But if it stays or feels heavy, go to your doctor, dont just bear it.
Headaches can have many reasons in pregnancy so dont always ignore them. Try rest, water and proper sleep first. But if its frequent or very bad, get your BP checked and tell your doctor, mine kept track of mine at every visit.
