Doc gave me both calcium and iron but someone told me they shouldnt be taken together. Ab confusion ho raha hai about the timing na. How do you all space them out during the day?
Apart from the pills, I tried to sneak them into my food! Lots of paneer and leafy greens for calcium, and dates or jaggery for iron. Sometimes I'd mix spinach into my daal. But yeah, the doc's pills are non-negotiable too, they're super important!
I'm in my second trimester and also taking them, but sometimes I forget or feel nauseous after iron. Do you guys take them together or separately? My doc said separately but it's hard to remember two different timings. Also, anyone else getting constipated from iron pills?
Please, please, only take calcium and iron supplements exactly as prescribed by your gynac. Don't self-medicate or follow advice from anyone else. They will tell you the right dosage and timing to ensure it's safe and effective for you and the baby. Your safety is paramount.
For iron and calcium, while diet definitely helps (like spinach, dairy, ragi), during pregnancy, supplements are usually necessary because your needs are so high. But pls only take what your doctor prescribes. They know the right amounts. Don't experiment with dosages, it's serious.
At my hospital, they gave a clear chart and explained exactly when to take which pill, usually iron and calcium separately. Don't hesitate to ask your gynac or even the hospital's nutritionist or pharmacist if you're unsure about timing or interactions. It's better to be very clear.
Hey, it's pretty straightforward, don't stress too much! Your gynac will prescribe the supplements. Just remember to take them consistently, maybe calcium at night and iron in the morning, or as your doc says. And try to avoid tea/coffee right after iron, it hinders absorption. You got this!
