How to take castor oil during pregnancy?

Im 39 weeks now and getting impatient for labour, my aunty mentioned castor oil. Im honestly a bit unsure about all this. Has anyone actually tried it and how? i'll check with my gynac before doing anything.

Please be very careful, castor oil is often used to try and start labour and it can cause strong cramps, so it is not something to take on your own. I would never use it without my doctor saying so. Please talk to your gynac before even thinking about it.

Beta, I know elders sometimes talk about castor oil near the due date, but please dont do this without your doctor knowing. It is not safe to try yourself during pregnancy. Ask your gynac, they will guide you properly.
