Just found out im pregnant and im trying to figure out roughly when it actually happened. My periods are a little irregular so im not sure about my dates. How do u even calculate this?
My tracking app estimated conception around my ovulation date and it was pretty close to what the scan said later. If you logged your periods, the app gives a decent ballpark. But the scan is the real confirmation.
Doctors usually count from the first day of your last period, not the actual day of conception, which confused me too. Actual conception is around ovulation, so roughly 2 weeks after your period started. The early dating scan gives the most accurate estimate, my doc relied on that.
Don't stress over the exact day, even doctors give a range. They'll calculate your due date from your last period and adjust after the first scan. That's how it worked for both my pregnancies.
I always wondered this too. From what I understood, the exact day is hard to pin down, it's an estimate based on your cycle. The ultrasound dates it better than guessing from when you 'felt' it.
