Im 30 weeks and the itching on my belly and arms is driving me crazy, especially at night. Its not letting me sleep properly. How did you all manage this? Planning to mention it to my gynac too.
I felt so itchy on my growing belly in the later months and it drove me crazy at night. Regular moisturising helped me a lot. But honestly I'd told my doctor about it and she confirmed it was just normal stretching, which gave me peace.
Mild itching from stretching skin is common, but please don't ignore it if the itching is severe, all over, or worse on palms and soles. That can be a liver thing in pregnancy and needs the doctor. I had to get a blood test for it, so do mention it to your gynac.
For normal dry skin itching beta, keep the skin moisturised with coconut oil or a gentle cream and drink enough water. Avoid very hot water baths, that dries the skin more. But if itching is a lot, show the doctor, don't just keep applying things.
If it's just dry itchy belly skin, a good moisturiser and oil after bath sorts it mostly. Wear loose cotton clothes too. But intense itching needs a check, not home tricks, so know the difference.
At home elders always said apply coconut oil and it does soothe dry itchy skin. I did that and it helped. Just keep your doctor informed if it gets bad, they know whats normal and whats not.
