Had this issue before pregnancy and now in my 5th month im getting that familiar back pain again, scared its the stone acting up. Planning to see my gynac this week about it. For those who had stones while pregnant, how was it managed safely?
Please do not try to treat kidney stones on your own during pregnancy, this really needs a doctor. The treatment options are different when pregnant. If you have severe pain, blood in urine or fever, go to your doctor immediately.
My doctor said staying well hydrated helps, but the actual management of stones in pregnancy has to be doctor supervised because many normal treatments arent used. She was firm about not self medicating. So drink water and get proper medical care for the stone.
Lots of water is the general supportive advice, but stones in pregnancy are handled carefully by specialists because options are limited. Dont take any random pain medicine for it. See your gynac and they will involve the right doctor.
