My blood pressure has been a bit low lately, and I'm pregnant. Does anyone have tips on how to manage low BP during pregnancy? I want to make sure I'm doing okay.
It can be very scary to feel dizzy due to low BP, dear. Please make sure you are drinking enough fluids and keeping your legs elevated when resting. But if you feel too faint, please let your doctor know immediately.
Low BP is very common in the first two trimesters. To manage it at work, I always kept a bottle of ORS or salt-sugar water on my desk and had small meals every two hours. Don't stand up too fast from your chair.
Don't stress too much, low BP is super common during pregnancy! Just keep sipping nimbu paani with a pinch of salt, and carry some salty crackers in your bag. It really works wonders.
Low BP usually happens as your blood vessels expand. Make sure you are drinking at least 3 liters of water daily and adding a bit more salt to your food if your doctor allows. Coconut water and buttermilk are great options too.
When I had severe morning sickness, I couldn't keep food down and my BP dropped terribly. If you are also vomiting a lot, that might be causing it. Try having dry toast and salted buttermilk, and tell your gynac if you feel too weak.
