I am in my 5th month and dealing with this exact same thing since three days! Is this pregnancy rhinitis or a normal cold? I am scared to take any medicine, has anyone else had this?
Dealing with a runny nose while carrying two babies was a gym workout in itself. I survived on hot tomato soup and keeping my head elevated while sleeping. Safe and zero chemicals!
Do not worry, it's very common because our immunity drops to protect the baby. Just take steam, drink lots of warm fluids, and rest. If it doesn't get better in 3 days, just call your doctor once.
Oh God, throwing up with a runny nose is the absolute worst combination, I suffered so much! Steam inhalation with a drop of eucalyptus oil and warm ginger water really helped me get through it. Avoid taking tablets without asking your gynac.
I felt so miserable when I had a cold, I couldn't even sleep at night and felt like crying. What saved me was warm salt water gargles and my husband gently massaging my forehead. It passes soon, hang in there.
Actually pregnancy rhinitis is super common yaar, my nose was stuffed throughout my second trimester. Just use a humidifier in your room and drink warm water. Don't take any randomly bought decongestants!
Do simple saline nasal drops and take steam twice a day, it works perfectly. Don't run to take OTC cold medicines as they aren't safe in pregnancy. If you get a fever, then call your doctor immediately.
I panicked so badly when I got a cold in my first trimester, thinking it would harm my baby. My doc assured me it's just due to low immunity in pregnancy. Warm saline gargles and hot soups did the trick for me.
My mother-in-law says drinking warm milk with a little turmeric and black pepper helps a lot with runny nose. I hope it helps you feel better soon. Please take rest.
