Around 28 weeks and my gynac said its SPD, the pelvic area pain is so bad I cant even turn in bed properly at night. Anyone who went through this, what helped u manage it na? Im honestly struggling.
When I had pelvic pain, I directly called my coordinator at Cloudnine. The hospital physiotherapist took a special session and taught me safe pelvic tilt exercises. Definitely ask your hospital team for a therapist referral.
Using a warm compress and sitting down to wear pants helped me manage the pelvic pain at home. But if the pain is too sharp or u cannot walk at all, please ask your doctor before trying anything else.
My doctor explained that the hormone relaxin loosens your ligaments, causing SPD. She suggested sleeping with a pregnancy pillow between my knees and keeping my legs together when getting out of car. It helped a lot!
I am planning my pregnancy now and keep reading about SPD online. Is it really that painful? Let me know what home tips actually worked for you guys so I can save them for later.
My MIL told me to stop sitting cross-legged on the floor and always sit on a proper chair. Honestly, her advice to take small baby steps while walking really saved my pelvic joint from hurting.
Oh god, SPD pain is so real and it can make u feel so helpless and anxious. I used to cry thinking how will I walk, but please hang in there. It gets much better after delivery, u are not alone in this.
SPD literally made me walk like a penguin throughout my third trimester, no joke! Just accept the penguin walk, keep pillows everywhere, and laugh it off because it goes away the moment baby is out.
I just delivered 3 weeks back and my pelvic pain is almost gone now. During pregnancy, wearing a pelvic support belt was the only thing that kept me standing. Keep moving slowly, this phase will pass.
