My gums have become so swollen and they bleed a little when i brush, started around my second trimester. Its kind of uncomfortable. How did u guys deal with this? planning to ask my doc also but wanted to hear real experiences.
Swollen gums can be tricky during pregnancy, and you don't want any dental issues adding to hospital costs later. Make sure you're brushing gently but thoroughly, twice a day. Also, use a good mouthwash without alcohol. It's really important to tell your gynac about it, and maybe even visit a dentist who specializes in pregnant patients. Prevention saves money and discomfort!
Oh god, my gums too! It's like my whole body decided to swell up, gums included. Brushing feels like a battle. I've just been trying to be super gentle with a soft brush and warm salt water rinses. Honestly, at this point, I'm just counting down the days until baby is here and my body goes back to normal-ish. So tired! 😩
Swollen gums happen to many of us due to pregnancy hormones! You can try rinsing your mouth with warm salt water a few times a day, it really helps soothe them. Also, a soft toothbrush is a must. But if it's very painful, bleeding a lot, or you develop a fever, then please consult your gynac or dentist right away, don't ignore it.
Ugh, swollen gums are the worst! It makes eating my favourite biryani so uncomfortable. My dentist told me it's quite common due to hormonal changes. She just said to brush gently with a soft brush and use a mild mouthwash. And stay away from super spicy or crunchy things for a bit! I miss my papdi chaat. 😩
This is actually quite common during pregnancy due to hormonal changes. At my hospital, they always emphasized good oral hygiene. I'd suggest asking your gynac or the hospital's nursing staff for their recommendations. They might suggest a specific kind of toothpaste or mouthwash, and probably advise a visit to the dentist, making sure the dentist knows you're pregnant.
