These bluish veins have started showing on my legs and they ache by evening, especially standing too long. Im in my third tri. Anyone dealt with this, what helped you?
Oh my god, I remember seeing them and thinking something was seriously wrong! It's so scary sometimes. My doctor reassured me it's very common due to all the extra blood and pressure. She told me to wear compression stockings (the really tight ones!), keep my feet up, and not sit or stand for too long. They usually subside after delivery, but definitely talk to your gynac about options to ease discomfort.
Varicose veins are super common in pregnancy because of increased blood volume and pressure. The best non-medical things you can do are wear compression stockings, elevate your legs whenever possible, and avoid standing or sitting for too long. Light walking helps circulation. Most of the time they get better after delivery. Just tell your gynac about them, they can recommend specific stockings.
Hey, don't panic seeing those veins, I know they look scary! I had them too, especially on my legs, and I was so worried. My doctor said it's totally normal in pregnancy due to hormonal changes and increased blood volume. She recommended elevating my legs and wearing those special compression stockings. They largely went away a few weeks after delivery, so don't stress too much.
Varicose veins are very common, I developed them in my last trimester too. My doctor recommended wearing compression stockings daily, elevating my legs whenever I could, and doing light walks to keep the blood flowing. Avoided standing for long periods. After delivery, they significantly reduced, so don't worry, they usually aren't permanent. Just follow what your gynac says to ease discomfort.
My mother and MIL both said this happens in pregnancy, mostly because of the baby putting pressure. They would tell me to keep my legs elevated on pillows when I sat or slept. Also, I wore those special support stockings that my gynac recommended. They usually improve after the baby arrives, so just be gentle with yourself, beti.
I had some varicose veins too, mostly in my last trimester. They were quite uncomfortable. After my C-section, it took a few weeks, but they did start to get better. My doctor advised me to walk a little every day and keep my legs elevated when resting. The recovery from C-section itself is a process, but the veins also improved with time. Be patient with your body.
