I totally understand wanting to do everything perfectly for your baby, dear. Just add 2 strands of kesar (kumkuma poo) in a glass of warm milk, let it sit for a few minutes until it turns yellow, and drink it. It's a beautiful traditional drink.
I researched this on my pregnancy tracker! Saffron (kumkuma poo) is safe but only 2-3 strands maximum per day. You can soak it in a spoonful of warm milk first to get the colour, then mix it in your cup. Avoid using it in the first trimester.
I don't know much about medical safety, but in my experience, my grandmother told me to start kesar milk only after completing 5 months. I used to put 2-3 strands of saffron in warm milk before bedtime, it helped me sleep well.
Uff, 3rd trimester laziness is real, but my MIL makes me drink kesar milk daily! You just need to soak 2-3 strands of kumkuma poo (kesar) in warm milk for 10 minutes and drink it. Don't add too much else baby will kick you from inside, lol.
Natural milk with 2-3 strands of kesar is great for sleep and digestion, but please don't use too much because kesar creates heat in the body. If you have any stomach cramps or bleeding, stop it immediately and call your doctor.
While kesar milk is a widely popular tradition in Indian households, moderation is extremely important. Just 2 strands of kesar in warm milk is enough. It's always best to let your gynecologist know what herbs you are taking.
