We are trying since 4 months and i just bought ovulation strips first time. Honestly thoda confused about when exactly to test in the day and how to read the line. If anyone uses OPK regularly can you tell me how you timed it?
We are also trying so I get how confusing it feels. One thing my friend told me, test around same time daily for consistency. A faint second line doesnt count, it has to be solid dark.
I paired OPK with a tracking app and it helped a lot. Note your cycle length, start strips around day 10-11 if you have a 28 day cycle. When the app predicted ovulation and the strip went positive together, that was my best signal. Some apps even let you log the strip darkness.
Just a gentle note, OPK works great for regular cycles but with PCOS like me it can show false surges because LH stays high. If your strips are confusing or always positive, mention it to your gynac, they may suggest a different way to track. Otherwise dark line = your fertile window, go for it.
Simple. Start testing few days after period ends, once a day. Dark line equal or darker than control = surge, baby dance that day and the next. Dont drink loads of water before testing, dilutes it.
I started using OPK last cycle so I can share what I learnt. You pee on the strip (not first morning urine, afternoon is better) and when the test line is as dark or darker than the control line, thats your LH surge meaning ovulation is coming in a day or two. We try those days. Took me a couple cycles to read it right honestly.
