I bought ovulation strips because my cycle dates keep changing. I am not sure what time to test and how to read if the line is positive. Any TTC ladies using these kits, pls help na.
My amma kept saying just count days, but the kit really gave me clarity. Read the timing chart carefully, every brand is little different. And dont stress if it takes few cycles to read it right, it took me 2 months to understand the lines properly.
One thing na, if u have irregular cycles like me (PCOS), these kits can be tricky bcoz LH stays high sometimes and gives false positives. I'd say talk to ur gynac once, they may suggest follicular scans which are more accurate for us.
It detects your LH surge, thats the hormone that goes up just before egg releases. Start testing few days before your expected ovulation, use afternoon urine not first morning one. When u get a dark line same as control line, thats your peak, try in next 24-48 hrs. I conceived my second exactly like this.
I just started using one too, was so confused first. The instruction paper inside helped me, basically dip strip in urine and wait. Two dark lines means positive. Felt silly asking the chemist but he explained nicely.
Pair it with a period tracker app, it predicts your fertile window so u know roughly which days to start testing. Saved me from wasting strips. The app reminded me daily and I just tested around that time.
