We just started trying and i bought an ovulation kit but honestly im a bit lost on when exactly to use it and how to read it. First time using one. if someone could explain how u used it that would really help.
My doctor explained the ovulation kit detects the LH surge which happens just before egg release. So when the test line is as dark or darker than control line, its positive, and you should try that day and the next. Best to start testing based on your cycle length, she helped me figure the days.
Start testing few days after your period ends, daily around same time, afternoon urine works better than morning for these. When you get two dark lines that means ovulation is near, thats your fertile window. Try in those 2-3 days. Worked for my second.
Practical tip, dont test with first morning urine, hold urine for couple hours and test afternoon. Test same time daily so its consistent. Once positive, the next 2 days are key. Keep it simple, dont obsess over it.
We just started using one too. I read you test daily and when both lines are dark its your best time. A little awkward to track at first but you get used to it. Good luck to you, hope it happens soon.
Just a gentle note, with PCOS like me these kits can be confusing because of irregular surges. If your cycles are irregular or it doesnt show clearly after a couple months, do see a gynac for proper tracking. Otherwise the kit instructions are simple enough.
Read the leaflet inside, its pretty easy yaar. Test daily, dark line means go time. Just dont stress and turn it into pressure, that doesnt help. Enjoy the process too.
