I am in my second trimester and just started taking Kungumapoo, which is the Tamil name for saffron, in my milk. My MIL told me it helps with digestion, but I feel slightly anxious about the quantity. Is anyone else taking 2-3 strands daily?
Listen, saffron is called Kungumapoo in Tamil. Don't use too much of it, just 2 strands in warm milk after your first trimester is more than enough. People say it changes baby color, but that's a total myth, so don't believe all that!
I totally understand wanting to do everything traditional and perfect for your baby, sweetie. In Tamil, we call saffron 'Kungumapoo' and you can just add 2-3 strands of it to warm milk at night. It is so comforting and warms the heart during pregnancy.
I recently delivered my baby and my grandmother in Tamil Nadu insisted I take Kungumapoo with warm milk from the fifth month onwards. Just soak a few strands in a spoon of warm milk first, then mix it in your cup. It really helped me sleep peacefully at night.
Kungumapoo yaani saffron ko doodh mein milakar peena bohot achha hota hai. Bas raat ko garm doodh mein do-teen dhage daal kar piyein. Sab bade yahi bolte hain aur isse dhyan aur shanti milti hai.
