Ordered a belly band coz my kamar pains a lot now in 7th month, but when it came i got confused how to actually put it on properly. Does it go above or below the bump? Pls help.
Belly bands are wonderful for pelvic girdle pain, but make sure you put it on while standing up and secure it under your baby bump. However, it's always best to ask your physical therapist or gynac during your visit to show you the correct way to wear it.
When I was staying at my parents' house, my mom helped me adjust my belly band for the first time. You should wrap it snugly but gently under your bump, not too tight on the stomach. It really helped support my lower back when walking around the house.
I just ordered a belly band because my back is starting to ache in my second trimester. I'm a bit anxious about wearing it correctly—does it squeeze the baby or is it safe to wear while sitting down?
I researched this thoroughly and my doctor told me to wear the band low on the pelvis, just under the belly curve to lift the weight. She also advised not to wear it for more than 3-4 hours at a stretch so my core muscles don't get too weak.
