I have a family function next week and im in my 7th month now with a proper bump. I really want to wear a saree but worried about how to drape it comfortably over the belly. Any tips on the style or where to tie it? pls help.
You'll look so pretty in saree with the bump :) Just go for light fabric and tie it loose below the belly. Comfort first, glamour second, but honestly you'll have both.
Tie the petticoat loosely below the bump, never tight on the belly. Use a soft cotton or chiffon saree, easier to manage. Drape the pleats a little higher so it sits comfy over the bump, worked great for my functions.
Actually I wore sarees till the end yaar, just kept the petticoat string loose under the belly. Lightweight fabric is your best friend, heavy silk is a pain to carry. Pin it well and you'll look gorgeous na.
For my seemantham I wore a soft saree tied low and loose, amma helped drape it gently. Keep it comfortable, dont let it press the tummy. A maternity petticoat with adjustable string is really handy.
