I keep getting confused with this. The doctor told me one number but the app shows different, and i dont even remember exact dates of my last period. Can someone explain how the weeks are actually counted?
I just put my last period date into a pregnancy app and it counted the weeks and due date for me. It goes from LMP, last menstrual period. Super handy but the doctor still confirms with the scan.
Haan it confused me too yaar. Actually they start from your last period date, so the maths feels weird at first. Once the first scan happens the dates become clearer.
Oh so its from last period not from the actual conception day? I always got confused why my number was higher than I expected. Thanks, this thread cleared it for me.
My gynac explained they count from the first day of your last period, not from conception, so you are technically about 2 weeks pregnant before you even conceive, sounds odd but thats the standard. The dating scan then confirms or adjusts the weeks. Thats why the EDD can shift slightly after the first scan.
