I just turned 35 and we are finally expecting after a long wait. Everywhere i read they keep saying advanced age and it makes me anxious. Anyone here had a healthy pregnancy at this age? would love to hear positive experiences
I had my second at 37, totally fine. Yes it gets a high risk tag technically, but with good care and regular checkups it is very manageable. Just dont skip ur appointments and stay healthy.
My doctor explained that 35+ is called advanced maternal age, so they do offer extra tests like the screening for chromosomal stuff. It doesnt mean something will go wrong, just closer watching. Lots of healthy pregnancies happen at 35 and beyond.
Dont stress over the label dear. It only means doctors keep a slightly closer eye on things. Plenty of women have smooth pregnancies at this age. Eat well, rest, and follow ur gynac.
Technically yes, after 35 it is considered higher risk so more screening is advised. But with modern care it is very common and safe now. Best to discuss ur individual risk with ur gynac, every case differs.
I conceived at 36 through IVF and yes they label it high risk, but please dont let that word scare u. It just means a bit more monitoring and extra scans. So many of us have healthy babies at this age, take heart.
