Doc has asked me to get a CT done for something unrelated but im 11 weeks pregnant and honestly thoda scared about the radiation part. Did anyone here get a CT scan while pregnant? pls share how it went.
I felt so scared when I had to get a simple dental X-ray done, so I can understand your worry. But my gynac strictly told me that CT scans aren't safe during these months because of high radiation. I felt it's always better to double check with your doctor first.
Hey, please don't stress too much but seriously, do not go for a CT scan without asking your gynac first. Normal radiation can be tricky for the little one. Just call your doctor once and they will guide you properly, okay?
To be very honest, CT scans are generally avoided during pregnancy because of the radiation risk to the baby. If a doctor has suggested it for some emergency, definitely discuss if an MRI or ultrasound can work instead. Don't take any decisions in a hurry and check with your gynac first.
When I was recovering from my C-section, I realized how cautious we have to be with any medical tests. From what my doctor told me, CT scans are usually not recommended when you are pregnant unless it's a real emergency. Please check with your team of doctors once before going ahead.
I totally panicked when my doctor even mentioned a scan, but then she explained everything and we did a safe ultrasound instead. CT scan is usually not preferred in pregnancy because of the radiation. Just talk to your doctor openly, they always have safer alternatives for us.
