My back and feet pain a lot now in third trimester and someone suggested acupressure for relief. But thoda scared because i heard some points should be avoided in pregnancy. Anyone tried it safely?
Acupressure can be helpful for nausea, but you must avoid pressure points near the ankles, hands, and lower back as they can stimulate the uterus. Honestly, unless you are seeing a licensed acupressure therapist who specializes in pregnancy, it is safer to stick to standard prenatal massages.
It is better to avoid it unless it is done by a certified prenatal expert who knows exactly what is safe. Our bodies are very delicate right now. Please take rest and consult your doctor.
With my thyroid issues, I was already visiting the doctor regularly and taking meds, so I didn't want to experiment with acupressure. It's always best to keep your gynac in the loop before trying any such alternative therapies. Safe over sorry always!
I had GD during my pregnancy and had to be extremely careful with everything, so I completely avoided acupressure to be safe. It is always better to double check with your gynac. Focus on a clean diet and gentle movements instead, that really helped me manage my sugar and body aches naturally.
During my pregnancy, I wanted to try alternative therapies, but my doctor advised against self-acupressure. Certain points can cause uterine contractions. If you want relief, a gentle warm bath or light stretching is much safer and worked great for my normal delivery prep!
I completely understand wanting some relief from all the body aches and pregnancy fatigue. But please be very careful with acupressure as some pressure points can actually trigger labor. It's better to avoid it unless you really trust a certified professional.
My mother-in-law strictly told me not to do any massage or acupressure on my own during pregnancy. And when I asked my doctor, she also said some pressure points can be risky. So I just stuck to simple home remedies and trusted my doctor's advice completely.
