Have to fly to my parents place next month, im 22 weeks then. First pregnancy so im thoda anxious about flying. Did anyone travel by air around this time? Pls share ur experience.
Normally, my saas and mom were very hesitant about me flying during pregnancy, but my doctor said it was perfectly fine in the second trimester. If your pregnancy is smooth, you can fly, but do get a fit-to-fly certificate from your gynac first.
In the second trimester, yes, but in the 3rd trimester? Absolutely not for me, I can't even travel from my bed to the sofa without huffing and puffing! Jokes apart, most airlines don't even allow travel after 36 weeks. Do check with your doc first.
I can't say if it's safe for everyone, but I personally traveled by air twice during my fourth and fifth months. I just carried my doctor's prescription and a medical note. You should definitely check with your own gynac before planning any trip.
I felt so nervous taking a flight in my fifth month, but I made sure to walk around the cabin and stay hydrated. My gynac gave me the green light after a quick scan. It was a smooth experience, but please make sure your doctor agrees first.
Our family was a bit worried about me traveling by air, but my doctor explained that the second trimester is actually the safest time to travel. I took a short flight with my husband and felt totally fine. Do consult your doctor before booking.
