I was on amlodipine for my BP before i got pregnant and now im worried about continuing it. I do plan to ask my gynac at the next visit but wanted to hear if anyone else was on it during pregnancy.
This is really a question for your treating doctor. They know your BP history and will keep you on whatever is safest. Please dont rely on forum opinions for a prescription medicine, just book a quick consult.
I understand the worry, but medication for blood pressure must come from your doctor, not us. Keep taking your readings, note them down, and let your gynac decide on the medicine. They will guide you safely through it.
Im not a doctor so i wont guess on a BP medicine. What i can say is please get this confirmed by your gynac, they often review pregnancy meds carefully. High BP needs proper monitoring, so dont leave it unmanaged either.
BP medicines in pregnancy really must be decided by your doctor, please dont start, stop or change on your own. I had high BP in pregnancy and my gynac picked the exact medicine for me. Call them before doing anything with this one.
My doctor switched my BP medication when i got pregnant because some are preferred over others during this time. Whether amlodipine continues should be your gynac or physician's call based on your readings. Definitely dont adjust it yourself.
