I had high fever and the doctor at our local clinic gave me this injection before i told him im pregnant (2nd trimester). now im worrying so much about whether it could affect the baby. has anyone been given this during pregnancy? i plan to ask my gynac also.
When I needed any medicine during my pregnancy I always made both my doctors talk to each other first. For something like this, get the prescribing doctor to confirm it knowing u are pregnant. Regular follow up matters.
This is a malaria medicine na, please dont take any decision on ur own about it. The safety actually depends on which trimester u are in, so only the doctor treating u can say. Pls dont self medicate with injections during pregnancy.
Honestly anti malarials in pregnancy are a doctor only call, some are avoided in early weeks. If u have a fever and they suspect malaria, let the physician and gynac decide together. Dont go by what someone tells u online including me.
