My gynac mentioned something about a low dose tablet during my visit and i think it was aspirin. Im 12 weeks. I always thought such medicines should be avoided in pregnancy so im a little confused. Has anyone been told to take this?
From what my gynac explained, low dose aspirin is sometimes prescribed for women at risk of certain BP or placenta issues, but ordinary aspirin for pain is generally avoided in pregnancy. The dose and reason matter a lot. So its strictly a doctor's call, not a self decision.
My doctor put me on a low dose aspirin for a specific reason in my pregnancy, but that was her decision based on my risk. Please never take aspirin on your own during pregnancy, regular doses are not the same as the low dose ones. Always let the gynac decide.
There is a big difference between the tiny prescribed low dose and a normal painkiller aspirin. The first is sometimes given on purpose, the second you shouldnt take yourself. If your doctor hasnt prescribed it, dont reach for it, just ask them.
