I have had mild asthma since childhood and now im 7 weeks pregnant. Bit worried how it will affect the baby and if my inhaler is okay to keep using. Planning to ask my gynac too but wanted to hear from others who had asthma in preg.
I had breathing issues in pregnancy and my gynac coordinated with another doctor to manage it properly. Asthma can be controlled in pregnancy but only with proper guidance. Please dont stop or change your inhaler on your own, talk to your doctor.
When you have a condition like this regular follow up is everything. I had thyroid and constant monitoring kept it safe. For asthma let your doctor keep an eye and adjust meds, it can be managed well.
Many women with asthma have healthy pregnancies, the key is keeping it controlled. Uncontrolled asthma is the actual risk, not the asthma itself. So stick to your doctors plan and dont skip your meds.
