Is astroglide safe to use when trying to conceive?
Things get a bit dry for me and we have been using astroglide. Now that we are actively trying im worried it might be coming in the way of conceiving. Anyone know if its ok or should we switch to something?
I was shy to ask this too but I did, and my gynac said use the fertility friendly kind when trying, not just any lube. Worth a quick check with yours, dont feel awkward, they hear it daily.
Not all lubricants are sperm friendly, some can actually slow them down. There are special fertility friendly ones meant for when youre trying. Better to ask your doctor which type to use rather than picking randomly.
The concern is whether it affects sperm movement, and some standard lubricants do. There are conception safe options available. Honestly the safest is to let your doctor recommend, since they know your situation.
When trying to conceive its best to use one labelled fertility friendly, regular ones can interfere. Just ask your doctor to suggest a suitable one, simple as that. Dont assume any is fine.
