My nani told me to avoid baingan completely during pregnancy, said its not good. But i really like baingan bharta yaar. Is there any actual reason behind this or just an old saying?
Beta our elders used to say go light on baingan in pregnancy, but a normal cooked sabzi now and then is fine. Just dont eat it raw or in huge amounts. If you have any doubt, ask your doctor.
Brinjal is fine in normal cooked amounts, I ate it regularly. The whole avoid baingan thing is mostly old belief. Just have it well cooked and you are good.
