We had bamboo shoot curry at a friends place and i loved it, but later got a bit worried. Its not something we usually eat at home so i have no idea if its safe now. Anyone from NE or who eats this regularly, pls share.
We eat bamboo shoot at home sometimes, properly cooked one is fine na. Nothing magic about it but it's not harmful either if it's a normal dish. Just dont have too much of it, simple.
If you eat it normally in your food, it's okay in moderation but only well cooked. Raw or improperly cooked bamboo shoot can be bad for anyone, not just pregnancy. Dont eat huge amounts, keep it occasional.
Bamboo shoot is eaten a lot in some regions and it's fine when cooked properly, never raw. But it's not something with special benefits, so just have it as a normal cooked veggie if you like it. If you're unsure, a quick word with your gynac settles it.
I'd say just keep it limited and always well cooked, never raw. Since I had a sensitive pregnancy I avoided experimenting with foods I dont eat regularly. If it's new for you, maybe just ask your doctor once to be safe.
