Someone gifted us some barramundi and i love fish but im always confused which ones are safe now. Im in my 5th month. Anyone ate this during pregnancy?
Barramundi is generally a low mercury fish so it's usually considered fine in moderation, but always cook it fully well done. I was careful with all my food during pregnancy, so do confirm with your doctor about your fish intake.
Oh I love barramundi haha. Had it cooked properly a few times during pregnancy and it was fine for me. Just make sure it's not undercooked, thats the main thing yaar.
We eat a lot of fish at home and my doctor said fully cooked, low mercury fish is good for baby's brain. Barramundi falls in the safer side, just avoid raw and keep portions reasonable. Still good to ask your own gynac.
From what I read it's one of the lower mercury fish so it's usually okay in pregnancy, cooked well. But every pregnancy is different, so just run it by your doctor to be safe.
