My friend did this cute belly cast thing for memories and now im also tempted, im 32 weeks. But thoda confused if lying still with all that plaster on the pet is okay or not. Anyone here actually done it?
I just did this in my eighth month and it was amazing! Just a quick tip from my experience: apply a super thick layer of Vaseline or coconut oil on your belly first. Otherwise, the plaster sticks to the tiny body hairs and it hurts a bit while pulling it off.
Yaar, actually it is super safe and such a cool concept. Just buy a non-toxic skin-safe kit online, sit comfortably, and let your hubby do the work. Kafi fun activity hai ghar pe try karne ke liye!
It is perfectly safe, but practically speaking, don't stand while doing it. The plaster takes time to dry and standing for too long can make u dizzy. Sit on a comfortable chair with some plastic sheets spread on the floor.
Honestly, I panicked so much thinking the heat from the drying plaster would hurt my baby. But then I read up and realized it is completely normal and safe. It doesn't get that hot at all, so relax and enjoy making this beautiful memory.
Belly casting is totally fine, just make sure the plaster doesn't touch your skin directly for too long. Since I had thyroid issues throughout my pregnancy, I was super cautious and always kept my gynac updated before trying anything new. Definitely ask your doc about your skin sensitivity, and don't miss your regular blood follow-ups!
It is such a beautiful way to cherish your bump, please go for it! Now that my baby is out, I look at my belly cast and get so emotional about how fast time flies. You will absolutely love having this physical memory of your pregnancy journey.
