Got a really bad mouth ulcer and the gel i normally use has benzocaine in it. Im 20 weeks and dont want to apply anything that could affect baby. Has anyone used it or asked their gynac about it?
I cant really say if it's safe yaar, I only used whatever my doctor approved. For my dental work they picked a safe option themselves. Better to confirm with yours.
Please dont use any numbing gel or medicine on your own in pregnancy. I always checked even small things with my doctor. Just ask your gynac or dentist if benzocaine is okay for your situation, they will guide you properly.
These local numbing things are usually used in small amounts, but during pregnancy always run it by your doctor first. Dont self apply for any procedure. A quick call to your gynac or dentist clears it up.
