Was reading the back of a face cream i use and saw benzyl alcohol in the ingredients. Got a little worried since im in my second trimester now. Anyone know if its fine to keep using?
I used to scan ingredient lists like crazy during pregnancy actually. Benzyl alcohol shows up in lots of skincare in tiny quantities. But instead of trusting an app, just double check with your gynac since you are pregnant na.
Honestly for anything with chemical names like this I would just ask the gynac before using, especially in pregnancy. I was extra careful with creams and lotions during mine. Pls show the product label to your doctor, its the safest way.
It's often in small amounts in lotions or some medicines, but whether its fine for you depends on how and where you are using it. I wouldnt take a random opinion on this. Your doctor or even the pharmacist can tell you properly.
I cant really say if its safe, I'm no expert. What I did personally was avoid products I wasnt sure about and asked my doc instead. Maybe just do the same, take the bottle and ask her.
