My mother in law made karela sabzi today and then someone told me its not good in pregnancy, now im a bit worried since i already ate a little. Im 10 weeks. Is it actually unsafe or just a myth?
I had gestational diabetes and people kept telling me to drink karela juice for sugar. I asked my gynac and she said no juice, just small amount cooked is fine. Pls check with ur doctor before having it in large quantity.
I just ate it occasionally in regular sabzi and had no issues. I cant say whats right for everyone, this was only my experience. Maybe ask ur doctor to be sure.
Beta in our time elders said avoid too much karela during pregnancy. A little in cooked sabzi is okay but dont eat it daily or as juice. Better to ask ur doctor since everyones body is different na.
Honestly i stayed away from karela in big amounts because i had a sensitive pregnancy. Small quantity cooked should be ok but i would say confirm with ur gynac first. Better safe na.
