Is bitter taste in mouth a symptom of pregnancy?
Since couple days i have this weird bitter metal type taste that just wont go, even after brushing. My period is due in 3 days and i havent tested yet. Did anyone get this before knowing they were pregnant?
Same here, the bitter taste went along with my nausea and it was so annoying. Chewing on a little fennel or sipping nimbu pani helped me a bit. If it bothers you a lot just mention it to your doctor.
Beta this happened to me also, mouth used to feel bitter all the time in the starting months. I kept some elaichi with me to feel better. It is quite common, dont worry too much.
It can be, that weird metallic or bitter taste is a known thing in early pregnancy because of hormones. I had it in both. But it can also be from acidity or some other reason, so dont treat it as proof on its own.
Oh yes I felt this so badly, like a constant metallic bitter taste, especially in the first trimester. I felt nothing tasted right and even water tasted odd. For me it was one of my earliest signs actually.
A metallic or bitter taste, they call it dysgeusia, is fairly common early on. That said, it is not a confirm sign by itself, so if your period is late do a proper test. Your doctor can also tell if its acidity instead.
