I've noticed that my stool color has changed and it's looking darker than usual, almost black. Could black stool be a sign of early pregnancy, or is it unrelated? I'm a bit concerned.
After my C-section, they put me on double iron doses and my stool turned completely black. It is totally because of the iron supplements they give us in pregnancy, so nothing to worry about. Just drink lots of water so you don't get constipated.
I just delivered last month and trust me, my stool was black almost throughout my pregnancy. My doctor told me it is because our body doesn't absorb all the iron from the tablets. Absolutely normal thing, don't worry.
Oh god, I panicked so much when I saw black stool the first time! I thought some internal bleeding is happening. But my gynac laughed and said it is just the iron medicines. It is perfectly normal, relax.
Haha, welcome to the pregnancy club! It is not a sign of pregnancy itself, but it is definitely a sign that you are taking those heavy iron tablets. Don't worry, your tummy is just processing the extra iron, quite normal!
As a breastfeeding mom, I still take my iron pills and still see this sometimes. It is very common when you start taking prenatal vitamins. Just make sure you are having enough fiber to keep things smooth.
When I was staying at my mummy's place, I noticed this and got so scared. My mom told me it is because of the iron tablets the doctor gives during pregnancy. Still, do mention it to your doctor when u visit next.
